What Makes Antique Porcelain Special?
Antique porcelains are more than just accessories – they are each unique works of art with a story to tell. Each antique piece carries a sense of history and craftsmanship that is lost in modern times. European thirst for these gorgeous porcelains exploded in the early 1700s. These wonderful Chinese and Japanese pieces adorned the baroque palaces of European nobles. Comenly referred to as the export period these porcelains were valuable trade goods all over the world from the ninth century. European artisans strived to copy fine ceramics and by the 18th century started producing their own. Their original themes were Asian as they directly emulated the imports and give us the origin of our favorite word chinoiserie, in the Chinese style.
Because of our passion for chinoiserie we love to curate antique porcelain from the export period however this has become extraordinarily difficult as the value has increased. We pride ourselves on offering intricately hand-crafted and delicate porcelain vases that were made in the 1800s as well as some more simple "everyday" antiques that were intended for use rather than decor.

About the collection
Our current collection of 19th century antique porcelain features a selection of styles and motifs that would make an elegant addition to any collection. Many of the pieces have remarkable details that speak to the history they represent, from staples used for repairs to the sought after patina, our collection of antique pottery makes a statement sure to spark conversation.
For hundreds of years, staples were used to repair cracks and imperfections in the porcelain before strong enough glue was available.
Our export collection features jars were traditionally used to store kitchen items, thus the name Ginger Jar and the bowls used for serving. However, the utility of these pieces was long ago replaced by the taste of the markets importing them. Our everyday items exported to locations closer than Europe were prioritize for function over design and you will see that reflected in their simple decoration. While not as delicate they are no less fascinating or valuable.
Due to the irreplaceable nature of the antique items, they will not be listed for sale on our website. Stop by in person to see these historic pieces with your own eyes. You're sure to walk away with something memorable and your very own piece of one-of-a-kind Qing dynasty history.
We can't wait to see how you style these treasured pieces!
